Clinical Quality

Below are a series of reports containing analysis of some key measures of the quality of care for patients with conditions of public health importance. The reports include analyses of routine and latest available data from various sources. The main reports provide baseline data for a new indicator set. Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) which are outliers will need to understand whether the data are an accurate reflection of current activity and outcomes and whether the situation is improving, deteriorating or staying the same. Further investigation of the quality of care of patients with cancer may be warranted to determine whether there is a significant problem in the quality of the care they commission.

The work also includes updates of benchmark reports to support local commissioners and providers to improve the quality of local care by identifying significant quality issues in the clinical care, and prevention of common conditions, that can be revealed from existing routine data.

Below are resources relating to clinical quality which have been organised at both a regional and national level.
